Saxon and Parole has their own special version of everything they make and this one made with Champagne is a delightful refreshment.

The Gin: Good Old Beefeater

The Vermouth: Replaced with Champagne

The Amaro: Campari

Negronis # 7,8,9 Summer Style - Made With Italian Sparklers

Italian sparklers, Frizzante o Spumante, like Lambrusco, Prosecco, and so many others are great for hot summer sipping but also make cocktails too.

These three are based on the basic Negroni recipe,  served at summer party.

The Base: Lambrusco, Malvasia Spumante, New Amsterdam Gin

The Vermouth: Dolin Rouge, Contratto Vermouth Bianco

The Amari: Campari, Cardamaro Amaro

Negroni # 2 - "Cocktails Stile Italiano"

The lobby bar of the Patria Palace Hotel in Lecce stands like an altar for cocktails,

and all those exotic Italian Aperitifs. In a land where there may be more altars per capita than any where else we were happy to worship at this one, enjoyed on our recent trip to Italy.

You probably already know an Apéritif or Aperitivo is an herbal alcoholic beverage usually served before a meal to stimulate the appetite. The word comes from the Latin verb aperire, which means “to open.” Worthy of that root, they are colorful and lusciously stimulating and so much to enjoy.
